TWP 200 HEAVY DUTY SERIES
TWP SHAKE AND SHINGLE 200 H.D. SERIES is a unique multi-layered coating designed specifically for wood roofing. Through use of a proprietary resin bonding system, the wood protectants are locked into the wood. This, coupled with the high paraffinic oil contents and tinted UV barrier, give multiple protection to the shake or shingle roof. The long lasting pigments found in TWP SHAKE AND SHINGLE 200 H.D. SERIES assures the user of consistent color for the life of the product. As the TWP 200 H. D. dries and cures, the oils continue to migrate into the wood. Curing takes 30 to 60 days, depending on the temperature. The pigment stays on the surface, forming a protective UV barrier.
This is how it works:
1. On a prepared surface (washed and repaired) apply the TWP200 H.D.
2. The paraffinic oil begins to penetrate immediately. The oil holds the UV barrier and all the resins, pigments and chemicals in place. The coating can be very dark in color upon application. Time and heat from the sun begin the job of helping the oil penetrate further into the wood. Penetration will take 30 to 60 days depending on the temperature, and the color lightens over time as the oil is absorbed.
3. The penetration oil, carrying protectants and resins seeps into and around weathered openings in the wood cells. This fills in old surface cracks and checks. Resins bond to and seal the surface openings, leaving no space for water or organic growths to enter the wood.
4. During the curing process, the oil migrates further into the wood and replaces the lost natural oils and resins. This unique combination of oil, protectants and resins provide 5+ years protection that makes TWP shake and shingle the industry leader in wood coatings.
TWP 200 H.D. Shake and Shingle is the preferred treatments product and rated No. 1 in the US. Actual field weatherization tests, plus other comparative studies have shown that TWP200 H.D. life span is double that of the No. 2 rated product. It is user friendly and its VOC compliance ensures it is environmentally safe.
